Everyone wants to go on a vacation. Think about it, a few days of great food, lying on the beach, and drinking Martini at a bar next to a pool.

Sounds great, doesn’t it? That’s because it is great.

The Covid-19 pandemic has left a bad taste in everyone’s mouth. Studies show that in June of 2020, 40% of adults in America reported that they were struggling with mental health or substance abuse.

What’s the population of America? As of 2019, it was 328.2 million. What’s 40% of that? A lot. These are the people who desperately need a vacation to take their minds off things.

And this is not only an American issue. Reports show that one in five Australian adults suffered from mental illness in 2020. With the vaccine being rolled out globally, people will be able to travel again soon. However, hotel owners are willing to drive up the price to capitalize on the demand.

If you follow these three tips, you can have a good time and save a dollar at the same time!

Buy a 4x4 camper van

Amid the global crisis, having a campervan lets you go on vacation at your convenience. You don’t have to book any hotels or figure out transport. All you need is some food, clothing, and money for gas.

You can travel to another state, visit a park that allows campervans and enjoy the beauty of the outdoors. You don’t have to be in proximity to any people to have fun either. It could be you and your dog or your significant other if you desire company.

Do not have your vacation in Australia

Vacations in Australia are expensive. You might think it would be cheaper than overseas travel, but locals often opt for southeast Asian destinations. Experts report that people can spend as much as $120 per day at a domestic hotel versus $75 in select parts of Asia.

Some people are willing to ignore these statistics. When you consider how 2020 was, an overseas trip might not be the best idea. However, the current rate of unemployment should convince you to spend as little as possible.

Stay away from all-inclusive resorts

All-inclusive resorts sound like a great deal, but they actually aren’t. Experts say that they offer subpar food, have high noise levels, and have too many activities for you to do. If the purpose of your vacation is for you to relax and unwind, skip an all-inclusive resort.

Research is vital. Before you make any decisions on your vacation, find out what works for you and your family.
